The Ourea (Ουρος)

Roman Name; Mons

Translation; Mountains

The Ancient Deities of Each Mountain

The Greeks said that each and every mountain had and was a deity of its own, they were all middle aged, highly noble mannered men. They would talk to each other often, seen as high and mighty old soldiers. They were birthed by Gaia and created the Islands the Nesoi. Not much is known about them, but people were known to leave small offerings when climbing over or though mountains as a sign of respect. Although mostly docile men, they were destructive when angered, destroying everything in sight, ones with particularly bad tempers are what we call, active volcanoes. Although they all have different levels of patience and emotional regulation, they all have a boiling point.

Family Ties; Mother of the Oures is Gaia, and their offspring are the Nesoi (Islands).
