Apate (Απατη)

Roman Name: Fraus

Translation: Deceit

The Personification of Deceit

Apate is the embodiment of deceit, but with that also comes fraud, deception, and guile. She was close friends with another who personified something very similar to Pseudologoi (Lies). She had many sides, parts, and copies of herself, some of these include her counterpart Dolos (Trickery) and her opposite Aletheia (Truth). Described as a thin and long woman, is a red dress with dark red hair. Most often depicted with a massive grin on her face, one where you can't tell if it's genuine or not.

Although she has no main role in mythology, you can see sprinkles of her in the words and actions of others during mythology. When they act in deceit, Apate is always there.

Family Ties; Apate's Mother and Father are Nyx and Erebus, with many siblings such as Aether, Hemera, Ker(es), Moros, Momus, Hypnos, Thanatos, The Oneiroi, Geras, Oizys, Nemesis, Philotes, Eris, The Moirai, and The Hesperides.

Tributes; Apate doesn't have any tributes or symbols of her own as many wished to banish deceit from their lives rather than welcome it.
