The Meliae (Μελιαι)

Translation: Ash-Tree, Honey

The Ash-Tree Nymphs

The Meliai are a group of nymphs of the Mountain Ash-Trees, born from when Uranus was castrated from the blood that landed on Gaia. These Nymphs were the wives of the Silver race of man (the second generation), who in turn gave birth to the Bronze race of men (the third generation). Nursing their new found sons with the honey from the Ash Trees they were nymphs off. However this new race of men were incredibly violent, and waged war against the gods, which got them wiped out in a flood, to which Zeus started again with recreating the humans. These Nymphs were also known as nurses, mostly because of their honey, as the Greeks used this in a lot of their own medication, it was said that the Nymphs took care of the Gods when they were wounded or sick. Because of this, the Meliae played a role in the Olympian war, as they nursed wounded gods back to health to go back out into the battlefield. However, just because they were of the medical team of the war, this didn't mean they couldn't hold their own, when a Titan wonders into the med-tent and tried to kill one of the wounded sub gods, the Nymphs worked together to pull him out and kill him, as no one was to disturb their patients until they were healed.

Family; The Meliae were daughters of Gaia and Uranus' blood. They were married to the silver men and mothers to the bronze men. Their siblings included The Cyclopes, The Hecatoncheires, The Gigantes, The Erinyes, and The Titans.
