Athena (Αθηνη)

Roman Name: Minerva

Goddess of Wisdom and Strategic War.

Athena is the Olympian Goddess of Wisdom, Good Council, Strategic War, Heroism, and Crafts. She's depicted as a beautiful woman but stern and strong, armed with a shield and spear with armor and a long snake patterned robe with a crested helm. She was so good at what she does that even Ares was scared of her, many heroes and kings turning to her for help with planning battles. Athena followed in her aunt Hestia's footsteps and remained a virgin goddess, and unmarried. Athena was born from the Head of Zeus, after he swallowed Thesis, it turns out she was pregnant. Athena grew inside him, when one day Zeus got a headache so bad he begged his son Hephaestus to break his head open and Athena spring from it fully grown, already in her armor.


Family; Father is Zeus, without a monster but probably by Thesis. Her siblings include the hundreds of children Zeus had but her Twin god is Ares, her opposite. She never married and never wed.


Tributes; Her symbols include Aegis and the Gorgoneion. Her animal is the Owl and Plant is the Olive tree, One witch she offered to the city of Athens.
