Minos (Μινως)

Translation: King

Judge of the Dead and Creator of Code of Laws

Minos is said to be the most legendary king of an island called Crete. He was born from Zeus and Europa, and was said to have created the most successful and ethical code of laws and educational system the world has ever seen. So much so that in death he, along with two others, Rhadamanthus and Aeacus, were made the judges of the dead and a part of Queen Persephone's Royal Court. Minos' son was killed trying to fight the Bull of Athens, as Athens punishment, Minos went with Zeus to avenge his son's death by charging them 14 children every nine years to be eaten by the Minotaur.


Family; Minos parents are Zeus and Europa. His brother was Rhadamanthys, and Sarpedon. He married Pasiphae, with whom he had many children such as Acacallis, Ariadne, Androgeus, Glaucus, Deucalion, Phaedra, Xenodice, and Catreus. His wife was also the mother of the Minotaur.

Tributes; Minos is represented by the Bull he greedily kept from Poseidon.
